Junior 3D Artist

Overview

i3 is seeking an Entry Level 3D Artist. Candidates will provide knowledge and/or experience that demonstrates strong skill in photo-realistic, immersive 3D design and development. You should be able to demonstrate strong modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, and animation skills. You will work directly with supervisors, designers, and engineers in the support and creation of interactive mobile, web and desktop trainers, serious games, and simulations.  

 

You should also have knowledge and/or experience in reading and translating technical information and conceptual ideas into high-end interactive multimedia applications. You will design and create vehicles, props, and sets for real-time interactive 3D training. You must be able to work collaboratively with engineers and other artists on projects ensuring successful on-time delivery.

 

It is required that you submit an online portfolio of your work with your application. The best portfolios typically display a proficiency in creating photorealistic hard surface 3D assets for real-time pipelines. The desired portfolio will show the utilization of high to low poly modeling workflows and an understanding of PBR texturing. We also recommend displaying a shot breakdown specifying your direct contributions. Include texture sets, wireframes, and clean renders of finished work in a real-time renderer is preferred. 

 

This position is located at either our Huntsville or Orlando offices with the option of hybrid work.

 

All positions are contingent upon contract award expected Jan/Feb 2024.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Game Development, Game Design, 3D Art, or related field and 0+ years of experience - or - a minimum of three (3) years' professional experience is required with no degree.
• Experience with texturing suites (such as Substance Painter, Quixel, etc.).
• Experience with Maya, 3D Studio Max, or equivalent. 

Desired qualifications:The following would be considered a plus:

• Knowledge and/or experience with the game engines (such as Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, etc.).
• Knowledge and/or experience developing and optimizing for mobile devices (iOS, Android, etc.).
• Knowledge and/or experience developing immersive 3D technologies (such as AR/VR).
• Knowledge and/or experience with ZBrush, Mudbox, or equivalent.
• Knowledge and/or experience with photo editing software, such as Photoshop, GIMP, etc.

Security Clearance:

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Active Secret Clearance is preferred.
