Position
We are looking to hire a learning support assistant for our middle school, working under the direction of our MS Learning Support Specialist and reporting to the MS Assistant Principal. This is a 20-hour per week position, mostly pushing into classes and supporting students in executive functioning skills and content remediation in-the-moment, occasionally working with students in a 1:1 environment. This person will also attend our regular student study team meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
Our ideal candidate is a child-centered, energetic educator and a critical thinker with strong social skills who can read a room– being able to instinctively know how to support in a classroom environment without causing disruption is very important, as well as compassion and patience when working with students. Successful candidates will be:

Requirements:
BA or BS in a related field
Minimum two years experience working in a classroom environment
Preferred:
MA
Experience in Reading, Writing, and Math intervention systems

Job Summary:
Under direction of the Principal, Learning Specialists are responsible for supporting students whose needs have been identified as extending beyond the mainstream classroom. The Learning Support Assistant collaborates with classroom teachers to implement the learning plans under the supervision of the MS Learning Support Specialist.
Job Responsibilities:
Push into classes and work with identified students for a determined number of hours per week
Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the support aligns with classroom instruction
Attend Student Success Team (SST) meetings, contribute to the meetings as needed, and use the information from the meetings to inform their work with students
Compensation:
This part-time position pays $25 per hour
