Position Overview
We currently have an opening for a Program Manager/Project Manager that will work with a cross-functional team of internal and external customers to ensure projects and technologies are implemented successfully.
CJ Logistics loves collaboration and a team environment. Therefore, this role is located at our Colonial Heights, VA.
Position Responsibilities
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates; including setting and adjusting short-term priorities and preparing schedule for completion of work.
  • Formulates and develops IT project management standards and procedures that are designed to guide activities and operations.
  • Project Management duties include leading cross functional teams through all service implementation and product development activities.
  • Orchestrate the activities of multiple functional disciplines to deliver products and services to the customer.
  • Synthesize large complex customer business and technical requirements into manageable pieces, lead internal and external customer meetings, develop comprehensive proposal and implementation project schedules, and meet deadlines.
  • Serve as the key customer point of contact for programs.
  • Work with both internal and external customers on a daily basis, and deliver customer and executive briefings on a variety of topics including status updates, technical issues; solutions, pricing, and schedule timelines.
  • The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall on-time and on-budget delivery of successful technology installations, along with developing and communicating work plans, managing deadlines and coordinating the Network Engineering team's activities and sub-team activities.
  • Be responsible for defining and agreeing on deliverables and milestones, setting and controlling scope.
  • Support, lead and assist internal customers with requirements definition, project definition, and project planning.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders in project to assure success.
  • Prepare project plans, tollgate documentation and reports.
  • Work closely with customers, developers and vendors to manage issues, scheduling, etc, as they arise.
  • ISSO Optimization document controller.
  • Directs the development of data, provides expertise and insights, prepares position papers or legislative proposals, and other activities in support of program management.
Job Qualifications -Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field is required.
  • Three or more years of program/project management experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities, have strong financial acumen as well as a strong technical understanding of one or more aspects of telecommunications (i.e voice, data and/or IP networking)
  • 4 Year's' experience in architecting technologies. (Transportation Management, Distribution, Material Management, Warehouse Management, Finance).
  • Experience in migrating large enterprise applications to hosted infrastructure.
  • Ability to translate functional specifications into technical design documents, provide estimates, and deliver the desired functionality.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality of work under pressure with hard deadlines and a commitment to deliverable.
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively-both verbally and written with a wide range of individuals across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications.
  • Experience in developing new business processes and managing technical teams.
  • Experience in managing and implementing TM systems, specifically SQL database.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Microsoft Office including Project, Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a strong understanding of systems development, database management techniques and applications deployment.
  • Ability to multitask.
