Position Summary: The Jr. In-House Legal Counsel will be situated in the Stamford, Connecticut office. The business mix is diverse, and this is a hybrid role that will support the insurance and reinsurance divisions.
Essential Duties:
Regulatory: Advise upon; and implement or revise procedures and protocols to achieve compliance within areas of insurance regulation such as:
• Licensing of Companies
• Privacy
• Insurance Department Complaints
• Day-to-day regulatory matters. i.e., Cancellation and Nonrenewal
• Managing General Agents
• Holding Company System Filings and Issues
• Financial and Market Conduct Exams
Contracts:
- Draft, review, advise upon, and/or negotiate various agreements
Counsel:
- Provide counsel to business clients including but not limited to: Underwriting Managers, Third Party Administrators, Producer Relations, and Various Lines of Business
Education and Experience:
- BA Degree required
- JD required
- 0-5 years of experience
- Working knowledge of reinsurance and insurance contracts and regulatory requirements is preferred.
