Company Description:
Apex Order Pickup Solutions is a new company, but finding smart and efficient ways to do things is in our DNA. Our roots go back to Apex Supply Chain Technologies, whose founder patented the first industrial vending technology more than 25 years ago. We introduced our first click & collect smart lockers in 2015, then rolled out similar technology for food order pickup soon after. As we gained more customers, we decided to create a separate business unit completely focused on their markets and needs. Our solutions provide self-serve order pickup with no waiting, no confusion, and no contact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A Jr Hardware Product Analyst at Apex is a highly motivated, self-starter who will evaluate, analyze and optimize the hardware components of our IoT offerings. They will collaborate closely with other analysts, all disciplines of engineering, product managers, business stakeholders, and development teams to ensure the seamless integration of our hardware and our software (electrical and embedded).
  • Hardware Analysis & Evaluation
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of hardware components and systems to ensure compliance with design specifications, performance requirements, and industry standards.
    • Evaluate the performance, reliability, and scalability of IoT hardware to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Product Integration & Testing
    • Collaborate with the product development team to integrate hardware components seamlessly into IoT solutions, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
    • Design and execute tests to verify hardware functionality, including stress tests, performance tests, and interoperability tests.
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
    • Investigate and troubleshoot hardware-related issues, working closely with engineering teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
    • Provide technical support to resolve hardware issues during the product development lifecycle and in the field.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Create comprehensive documentation related to hardware specifications, testing procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
    • Generate regular reports summarizing hardware performance issues and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Collaborate with cross-matrix teams, including product management, software developers, and QA engineers, to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey hardware-related insights, progress, and potential risks and/or challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Remain current with advancements in hardware technologies, industry trends, and emerging IoT standards to propose and implement in our suite of products.
    • Propose innovative ideas and solutions to enhance hardware performance, reduce costs, and increase overall product efficiency.
Educational Requirements:
  • BA in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Product Management - Hardware.
  • Proven experience in hardware analysis, evaluation, integration, and testing with IoT technology.
  • Strong understanding of hardware design principles, embedded systems, and hardware-software integration.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards across hardware and integration software.
  • Proficient in hardware testing methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and extreme attention to detail.
  • Highly effective at cross-matrix collaboration and communication.
Requirements of the Position:
  • Candidate is not required to travel on a percentage basis but could be asked to attend manufacturer facilities, customer sites for hardware observation and trade shows.

Work location: This position is based out of our Mason, Ohio headquarters. We work together in the office Tuesday through Thursday and enjoy flexibility to work remotely Monday and Friday as schedules permit. #LI-HYBRID
