Journeyman Pipefitter O&M - Milne Point
JOB SUMMARY
The Journeyman Pipefitter will lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, maintain, and assist welders in preparation of piping and pipeline systems and industrial processing piping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials according to drawings and job specifications.
• Inspects worksites to determine presence of obstructions plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other crafts.
• Cuts and bevels pipe using cutting torches, saws, threading machines and pipe cutting machine.
• Assembles and installs a variety of valves and fittings.
• Prepares and fits pipe for welding by a certified pipe welder or joins pipe and fittings by means of threaded, brazed, or soldered joints.
• Secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, or hangers.
• Cut penetrations in walls, ceilings or floors as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
• Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Five (5) years of experience in pipefitting in an industrial environment as a qualified journeyman.
• Possess general knowledge of the ANSI, ASME, and PFI codes and standards.
• Show a basic understanding and knowledge of the functional operation and purpose of the various piping system components such as valves, fittings and expansion joints.
• Display thorough knowledge of the various sizes and grades of standard materials employed in an industrial plant such as bolts, gaskets, fittings and valves.
• Have ability to read, interpret and determine dimensional information for drawings and specifications such as isometrics, orthographic, P&ID's, equipment arrangements, etc.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the basic skills of measuring, layout work, cutting, straightening, beveling, threading, and fitting pipe.
• Demonstrate the ability to properly use, interpret and care for the tools and equipment commonly employed on an industrial project such as cutting torches, threading machines, grinder, beveling machines, round-up clamps, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS
• North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:
• Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
• Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
• Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
• Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam
• Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company's continued operational needs once training is completed.
