Experienced commercial journeyman with boiler, burner and mechanical knowledge needed for our federal operations and maintenance team based in Anchorage, Alaska and for serving other commercial customers throughout the State of Alaska.

This position is responsible for installing and maintaining heating and ventilation systems in commercial locations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ journeyman experience, technical skills and excellent problem-solving abilities. This position will provide you with a variety of opportunities to use your existing skills, learn new skills and the opportunity to advance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 Install, maintain, test and repair plumbing, boilers, burners and HVAC mechanical systems, piping systems, control valves and all other related equipment.

 Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency of HVAC systems.

 Analyze and troubleshoot HVAC problems and devise effective solutions.

 Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

 Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

 Journeyman certification and licensing.

 Technical proficiency/working knowledge of HVAC equipment repairs in commercial settings (boilers, burners, furnaces, water heaters).

 Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage projects.

 Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 Exceed customer expectations and maintain customer satisfaction.

 Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

 Ability to use computerized system(s) for job and time-tracking.

 Perform other duties as required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

 Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment and on your own.

 Availability to travel to remote locations and the opportunity to see Alaska.

 Physically able to bend, reach, climb and lift up to 25+ pounds without assistance.

 Some computer experience (we will train on our systems).

 Good organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

 Valid driver’s license.

SCHEDULE

 8 hour shift.

 Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 Rotating on call scheduled (1x per month).

 Some weekends.
