Job Description
Manages service & delivery operations within the John Deere dealership. Maximize department return on investment by exercising disciplined expense control. Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Generates repeat business and growth in service sales by efficiently and effectively processing service work as well as accounts receivable
- Effectively both schedules and manages execution of service work for both internal and external customers in ways that make sure W.I.P. is at an expected level.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement budgets, marketing plans, strategies and tactics
- Coordinates customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events
- Submits all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
- Ensures employees are effectively managed on a daily basis in a work environment that contributes to both high productivity and satisfaction
- Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
- Manages and maintain departmental assets, including service and delivery vehicles, and non-labor sales to maximize departmental profitability
- Provides input to ensure the service department is properly staffed and offers support for recruiting and hiring winning employees
- Optimizes employee performance through ongoing evaluations, coaching, development, recognition, and discipline/corrective actions that consistently produce expected results
- Ensure exceptional customer experiences and loyalty by proactively communicating with customers, successfully resolving complaints/issues, and following up in a timely manner
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- 3+ years experience in Service Department operations
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
- Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Excellent customer service skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
