Job Summary:

The Jobs in East TexasGrant Administrator (GM) reports to the Vice President for Workforce and Continuing Education and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Jobs in East Texas Grant. The Jobs in East TexasGrant Administrator’s responsibilities include 1) interaction with LSCPA students throughout East Texas to insure a smooth progression from training to employment, 2) Speaking to classes to promote students pursuing self-employment or small business ownership, 3) providing referral and interface services between students and area resources, 4) assisting the VP for Workforce Development with program expansion and new program creation as needed, 5) assisting the VP for Workforce Development in grant writing as needed, 6) report writing, and 7) other duties as assigned.
The Jobs in East TexasGrant Administrator will be required to work indoors and outdoors. Outdoor weather may include inclement weather conditions. Works in close proximity to heavy equipment and loud noises. This position is required to conduct program analysis and write technical reports. This position will frequently be called upon to “sell the services of the college” to regional allies. Any applicant must be comfortable in sales situations, must be accomplished in closing a deal and must excel in public speaking. This position will require travel up to 25% of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Experience as a teacher or administrator in a college setting.
Some prior management or grant management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s in Business Administration
Doctoral Degree
Experience in program development
Experience in sales
Experience in grant writing

SALARY :

$70,000.00 Plus Excellent Benefits

Work Hours:

40 hr. week. Some evenings / weekends

Essential Job Functions:

Be the interface between LSCPA graduates and local jobs. Be active in multiple communities to know the local job needs and arrange for employers to meet and interview students while still in class.

Essential Job Functions:

Speak to classes about self-employment and small business ownership. Refer interested students for credit repair as needed. Refer credit worthy students for counseling for small business ownership.

Essential Job Functions:

Participate in committees with regional planning agencies to insure that new businesses being recruited to the area are matched with the graduates of the LSCPA training programs to meet their workforce needs and to insure that the college is aware of large project while they are still in design phase.

Aid the VP of Workforce in grant writing as requested.

Aid the VP of Workforce in program design, evaluation, creation as requested.

Assist with budget preparation.
