Dawn’s Co-Op Program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Global Bakery Industry. With over 100 years of expertise, Dawn provides a platform for interns to experience our vibrant company culture, embrace our core values, and gain valuable knowledge for their future careersWe built our Digital innovation Hub in downtown Boston and staffed the start-up with top talent from leading Boston eCommerce firms like BJs, Keurig, Sapient, Staples, Vistaprint and Wayfair. The Boston office has a broad mandate to drive the company’s digital capabilities and reports to our Boston-based Chief Digital Officer. This is a start-up opportunity to build digital capabilities from the ground up using a composable architecture with the latest technologies across the digital ecosystem.
Dawn is looking to add an SRE/Dev Ops Co-Op to our team for a 6-month rotation from July to December 2024 to work hands-on with our eCommerce platform in a variety of roles and responsibilities. This role would be well suited to students following a course of study in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar degree. The SRE/Dev Ops Co-Op reports to our Senior Site Reliability Engineer and will be mentored by a cross-functional group of Managers and SMEs and given the opportunity to present findings to the broader eCommerce team including Dawn’s Chief Digital Officer. This position will also offer the unique opportunity to own and present a complete end-to-end project utilizing all the skills learned during the Co-Op.
This is a full-time position in Boston, MA. Candidates must be located in or around the Boston, MA area to be considered for this Co-Op. The work environment for the role is Hybrid (1-2 Days in office per week and the days not in office working remotely).

What Does It Take to be an SRE/DEV Ops Co-Op at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Co-Op Program.
- Must be enrolled and working towards BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or other similar degree.
- Provide regular project status, updates to the business sponsors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Agile development processes.
- Ability to approach problems analytically, think critically, and devise effective solutions.
- Willingness to engage in troubleshooting and debugging activities to resolve technical issues.
What You'll Do as an SRE/DEV Ops Co-Op
- Writing automations in Python such as Upgrading the Kubernetes Clusters.
- Log formatting for the Nginx server.
- GitHub automations.
- GitHub - Terraform integrations.
- Log reductions for each workload running in Kubernetes.
- Creating/learning monitoring dashboards.
Preferred Technologies:
- Middleware: Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, NodeJs or other major application server(s).
- Databases: MySQL.
- Infra: Experience with GCP, infrastructure-as-code toolset such as Terraform, automation, and tooling. programming languages such as Python.
- Containers: Docker/Kaniko, Kubernetes.
- Development Tools: Visual Studio/Sublime, GitHub.
- Environment: Experience with Linux/RHEL and Bash scripting.
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins

Compensation
- Undergraduate: $24/Hour
- Graduate: $26/Hour
