$2500 Signing Bonus
This position involves the development, implementation, and maintenance of integrated community employment services to individuals with disabilities. Staff in this position report directly to and are supervised by the Career Opportunities for the Disabled (COD) Program Manager. Daily hours will vary to accommodate the needs of the individuals being served.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Provide and oversee Job Coach I in providing pre-employment training to include: resume development, employment application, interview skills, job search skills, etc.
- Develop and oversee Job Coach Iin developing job leads appropriate to abilities of individuals assigned for job search.
- Collect and compile data into comprehensive reports and make recommendation for suitability for community employment. Assist Job Coach I in all aspects of this process.
- Provide mentoring to Job Coach I and new hires on job tasks and duties.
- Train and Coach Individuals with disabilities in integrated community employment settings, enclaves and mobile work crews.
- Perform work as necessary to assure that the job is completed satisfactorily until the disabled individual is capable of performing the work independently. Assure that the job is completed on time and at an acceptable level of competence throughout the initial training phase.
- Provide mobility training as needed by instructing the individual in the methods of using public transportation..
- Develop vocational profiles to include: needs, skills, preferences, experience, and other information relevant to individuals referred for service.
- Analyze potential jobs by dividing tasks into manageable components. Identify difficult tasks that need special attention or modification. Help employees to design necessary work accommodations.
- Assist disabled individuals in obtaining the support services necessary to maintain employment.
- Provide continuous follow-up and intervention to support the disabled individual in maintaining employment.
- Document services provided for billing purposes
- Attend staff meetings, conferences, trade shows, job fairs, seminars, in-service training and consumer meetings, as required.
- Perform related work as required.
- Review and recommend work plans
- Review Individual write ups and compare to Individual Service Plans.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge of task analysis
Knowledge of supportive/supported employment, to include; general principals, practices, and techniques.
Ability to relate to individuals with disabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
Ability to be tactful and cooperative.
Ability to learn and perform various types of jobs without extensive training.
Ability to perform the physical labor associated with various entry-level service and manufacturing jobs.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with The Arc of Butler County’s Vehicle Policy.
