Jazz Band Director

Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a Jazz Band Director at Roosevelt High School.
Job Summary:
Conduct and administer performances and rehearsals of a high school Jazz Band
Successful candidates for this position will possess:
1. Bachelor of Music Education
2. Experience with a secondary school jazz ensemble. Student teaching experience is acceptable.
3. Working knowledge of all instruments used in a traditional jazz ensemble.
4. Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills

Stipend for this position: $3,487
Stipend amounts are based on a percentage of the base salary negotiated by DMEA. Stipends are subject to be prorated if the full season is not worked.
