Job description

We are actively seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer with strong proficiency in JavaScript and WEB technologies that wants to join the award-winning team responsible for shaping GSSI’s next generation of radar products. The ideal candidate will have the ability to immediately contribute to design, implementation and debugging of production systems as the primary UI developer on the team. This is a key role for the company and as a primary contributor you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge software for our industry leading ground penetrating radar systems. This position is based out of our Nashua, NH office.


Responsibilities:

  • Operate as the primary UI developer for all new product development
  • Work with a UX developer to design and quickly implement and iterate proposed design concepts
  • Help to define and implement a React-based common user interface across multiple products to support a growing and exciting portfolio
  • Interface with engineers that are writing highly optimized rendering code using OpenGL & WebGL to deliver industry leading graphical performance
  • Work with the team to help define and implement internal and external interfaces, messaging and protocols between distributed systems and devices
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and long term roadmap planning
  • Be a strong advocate for introducing relevant industry trends and advancements as well as contributing innovative solutions to maintain our technological edge

Requirements:

  • Passion for developing product-differentiating front end user interface code running on modern browsers, optimized for user experience
  • At least one successfully shipped product with key contributions to production code
  • Experience with modern WEB technologies including React , JavaScript, MQTT, and equivalent
  • Comfortable with advanced JS concepts including worker threads, synchronization, inheritance, and architecture
  • Ability to design cleanly written, portable code that can run on desktop browsers as well as on iOS/Android
  • Willingness and ability to debug JS code and develop tools to help in the process
  • Help build out JS backend framework code as necessary
  • Experience with cloud-based interfaces and environments is a big plus
  • Experience with app development is a big plus
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and command line / shell scripting
  • Experience with C++ a plus but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
