The Fraud Technology department in NFR is responsible for development of investigation and analytics platforms to help protect the Firm against fraudulent payment and identity activities.  The team is responsible for delivering the next generation Fraud detection platform for Wealth Management (WM) business.
Fraud platform is designed to detect and prevent fraud. The new platform is modular, highly scalable, real-time WM Fraud Screening platform that enables support of future business expansion, and rapidly integrates static and dynamic fraud controls to respond to an evolving and sophisticated fraud landscape.
The volumes are high and will grow further due to onboarding of new products. The challenge is even bigger as fraud detection must be done in real time.
As a member of the team, you will work with the business partners and developers across the firm to gather requirements and build technology solutions to meet business needs. This is a global opportunity that will provide collaboration with top technologist across global technology team. As we embark on this journey to build the new platform, we will have to evaluate and use best in class technology that can cater to changing business requirements in years to come.

No prior knowledge/experience in the fraud domain is required for this role.

Skills Required
-Proficient with Java (willing to work in Scala) or Scala
-Good knowledge of distributed architecture
-Microservices architecture
-Knowledge of Kafka or similar application
-Basic understanding of distributed caching and rules engine
-Strong problem solving and analytical skills


Skills Desired (nice to have)
-Cloud Native design- Containers and Orchestration Engine
-Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices & tools
-Open telemetry
-Basic understanding of Machine Learning applications and toolkit
-Exposure to full-stack development in Angular/React is a plus
-Knowledge of graph database is a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment.  However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
