Japanese Interpreter

LinQuest is seeking a Japanese Interpreter to join our team Remotely (Heavy travel will be involved to Japan).

Responsibilities:  

Objective: Member will provide English/Japanese language translation and interpretation services to meet LinQuest Corp training requirements with external customers in virtual and in classroom settings. Member will not independently develop any technical or training materials, or provide instruction to students.

1. Meeting participation: Member will support preparatory, virtual meetings with LinQuest and the end customer. Member will provide real-time interpretation as required for discussions between LinQuest personnel, and Japanese class participants.
2. Training materials: Member will support course material review and update. Member will validate translations of LinQuest developed course materials from English to Japanese. Member is not responsible for creating training materials.
3. In class support: Member will travel to Tokyo, Japan for approximately one week in the first quarter, calendar year 2024. Member will participate in classroom discussions providing real-time interpretation for class members and the LinQuest instructor. Member will support pre- and post-class discussions and material refinement with LinQuest personnel.

Required Skills and Experience:

• English to Japanese interpretation and translation, both conversational and technical 
• JPLT proficiency level N2 or higher, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor Degree
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
• PoP (Period of Performance): 1 Feb 24 – 31 March 24 (90 hours total)

Compensation for California: The hourly pay for this position ranges from approximately $70-$150 per hour depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
