General Summary:

Sheppard Auto Group Janitors are responsible to keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Work may include: cleaning floors, sweeping, washing walls and glass, cleaning restrooms, wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning rugs/carpets, and removing trash/garbage. The Detail department, in addition to cleaning and detailing automobiles for customers and the dealership, serves as the cleaning/maintenance department for dealership buildings, lots, work areas, lawns, bathrooms, offices and showrooms. The Janitor works in the detail department and is supervised and works for the Detail Department Manager.

Expectations of Janitors:

* PAY IS DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE!

* Helps the team to maintain a clean and safe work place.

* Maintain exemplary relationship with customers.

* Understand and demonstrate that work performed serves 2 types of customers; internal departments/teams and outside (public) customers.

* Demonstrates a positive attitude and does not use inappropriate language.

* Reports to the detail manager prior to and at the end of their shift.

* Strive to complete tasks on time, be thorough, and give appropriate attention to the details of their task.

* Janitor duties may include all public, employee lunchroom, conference room, office restroom, showroom areas of SM buildings. Normally, responsibility will NOT include Parts and Shop areas.

* Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming.

* Be available for work Monday through Saturday, for hours as assigned. Typically from 05:00 am to 08:00 pm. Be available for overtime as deemed necessary by management.

* Strive to complete tasks on time. Be thorough and give appropriate attention to the details of their task.

* Gather and empty trash.

* Maintains a neat and professional appearance at all times. Wear a dealership uniform during all working hours.

* Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors.

* Strip, seal and wax floors.

* Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

* Move medium to heavy furniture in order to clean floors, windows and walls.

* Notify the Detail Manager concerning the need for repair or replacement of operating systems in dealership buildings.

* Maintain high ethical standards in all dealership responsibilities and activities.

* Follow all rules and policies of Sheppard Motors.

* Any other tasks as assigned by management and supervision.

Physical and Work Demands:

* Standing for most of the hours in a shift.

* Utilizing physical and manual dexterity.

* Work will include lifting items up to 50 lbs, carrying items up to 30 lbs, pushing/pulling items up to 75 lbs.

* Using hand and power equipment consistent with industry standards.

Work Environment:

* Some noise.

* Dust

* Possible exhaust fumes from the shops.

* Other potentially hazardous and non-hazardous cleaning materials.

Pay: $32,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
