Janitorial Section Leader
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Department: Janitorial
Days and Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hour work week, with 2 Saturdays per month required)
Position Summary: The Section Leader’s duties include general
cleaning, pulling trash, dusting, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, and other cleaning
duties as assigned by Manager. Also includes coordinating with
employees to complete special tasks. Will also include checking behind teams of cleaners to ensure tasks
are being completed per the scope.
Position Responsibilities: Includes any or all of the following. Other duties may be
assigned. This job description is subject to change.

• The Section Leader trains new employees.
• Assigns tasks to workers and inspects completed work for conformance to

standards.

• Oversees and follows up on safety requirements with new employees including

site-specific training.

• Performs the duties of workers they supervise if needed.
• Site Inspections

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of professional leadership experience
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved

written or oral instructions.

• Ability to learn basic cleaning principles and techniques.
• Ability to perceive identification numbers marked on material and be able to read

and understand numbers and volumes.
