Janitorial Maintenance Worker (JMW)
Job Description and Profile
The Janitorial Maintenance Worker (JMW) for Rural Nevada Counseling (RNC), the Agency is a highly responsible and trustworthy member of RNC Team. RNC is an entity that meets criteria as established by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) demonstration program and is certified in the State of Nevada by the Division of Public and Behavioral Health’s (DPBH) Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) bureau. The Janitorial Maintenance Worker maintains the grounds and buildings of all RNC sites and houses. The JMW has the necessary skill and knowledge to perform basic maintenance as needed and completes janitorial on a regular basis to all offices. The JMW will be experienced in a janitorial and maintenance role focused on the upkeep of RNC properties. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative to maintaining multiple office spaces.
Reports Directly to: Operations Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to work flexible schedule based on RNC needs.
- Will coordinate with Operations on scheduled maintenance at RNC sites.
- Participates and attends regularly scheduled in-service education and training.
- Must communicate vehicle issues, damages and or scheduled maintenance with Operations Manager.
- Clean and supply designated building/office areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, trash, restrooms, common areas etc.)
- Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
- Notify Operations Manager of occurring deficiencies or needs of repair.
- Stock and maintain supplies at all offices.
- Handles outside snow removal, cleans up debris and possible dump runs.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, including management, co-workers, clients, vendors, and associations.

Education, Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a citizen of the United States or is lawfully entitled to remain and work in the United States –proof of citizenship or proof that an applicant is able to work in the United States
- Must pass FBI Criminal background check
- Must Pass any drug testing as required by the Agency
- Must be over 21 years of age
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow all privacy and confidentiality policies, practices, and laws
- Drivers’ History Report with no major violations
- Basic math skills
- 2 years of Maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Knowledge of different types of tools and proper use of them.
- Takes initiative to take on tasks without being told.
- Integrity and ability to work independently.
- A high school diploma or school equivalency diploma (GED)
- If in recovery, the candidate must have a minimum of 2 years sobriety.
