Janitor Supervisor

Description: We are seeking an experienced Janitorial Area Supervisor. This position is responsible for professional growth and customer retention, through improved operational efficiencies and supervision of all employees within the assigned areas. You will be directly responsible for assisting the program manager in the overall operation and supervision of Janitorial staff within the assigned location.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Provides ongoing guidance and direction to janitors and housekeepers.

· Displays and provides knowledge of facility and sanitizing standards.

· Assist Program manager with new hires, training, and development with proper use of equipment, safety practice and regulation.

· Schedules and conducts periodic site visits to all assigned site locations, walk through facilities to identify and discuss problems and conflict resolution as needed.

· Leverages relationships with customers, ensuring quality work is being conducted.

· Ensures company standards are met in accordance with specified operations.

· Assists with Janitorial duties as needed.

· Occasionally covers down on absent employees' shifts depending on contract needs.

· Maintains working condition of cleaning equipment.

· Some travel is required based on operational needs (up to 25%).

Qualifications:

· 2-3 years supervisor experience.

· 1 year experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields.

· Knowledge of supervisory and management principles, practices, and procedures.

· Knowledge of janitorial or custodian duties for large company industry.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills, to include interpersonal and organizational communication.

· Must be able to pass a preemployment background check.

· Floor technician and window cleaning experience (Required).

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Associate or bachelor's degree in business management (Preferred).

· Knowledge in Microsoft office programs.

· IEHA (Preferred).

Physical Requirements:

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Able to bend, stoop kneel, lift arms over head and shoulders.

· Able to stand or be on feet for extended periods.

Mental Requirements:

· Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently.

· Ability to read and understand simple instructions relating to the field of expertise.

· Ability to properly speak and have command of the language to properly explain or give instructions to staff.

Environmental Requirements:

· Ability to work in a hospital environment where there may be background noise for other personnel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.55 per hour
