Janitor (Part-time)

Purpose

Part time position on 1st shift up to 30 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning the office, bathrooms, cafeteria, kitchen

• Washing interior and exterior windows

• Emptying trash containers around the property

• Picking up litter in the parking lot

• Refilling hand sanitizer dispensers

• Operating the floor scrubber and floor polisher as instructed

• Cleaning up spills on the plant floor

• Setting up tables and chairs for meetings

• Stocking janitorial supplies in assigned locations

• Inspecting fire extinguishers and emergency light fixtures

• Cleaning ceiling vent covers

• Changing damaged ceiling tiles

• Painting as instructed

• Cleaning areas of the plant as instructed

• Other tasks as assigned by Maintenance Manager

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Competencies

• Ability to follow established procedures.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Manual dexterity.

• Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.

• Ability to work effectively with people.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outside and in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The work requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting and a variety of physical activities.

Pay: $16.25 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
