Janitor And Warehouse Helper

**The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 9am-2pm with Saturdays as needed**

Starting salary is $13.00 per hour--20-29 hours per week

Summary/Primary Purpose: Perform many routine janitorial tasks for the upkeep of building and grounds, maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Broom sweep all floors, vacuum all carpeted areas, mop floors daily, buff/polish tile floor according to schedule, and clean up spills in all areas.
2. Clean all glass, wood surfaces, and stainless-steel surfaces using proper cleaning methods.
3. Clean and sanitize all restrooms and fill all dispensers, soap, paper towel, toilet paper.
4. Collect and empty trash daily.
5. Keep all maintenance and janitorial supplies in good order.
6. Assist in grounds keeping by picking up trash and shoveling snow from sidewalks a necessary.

1. Assist customers with loading purchases or assisting with unloading donations.
2. Help unload store delivery truck as needed or directed.
3. Driving is an essential function of this position.
4. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, but not required.

Qualifications:  The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
2. The ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
3. Administrative skills include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail and filing.
4. English proficiency sufficient for communication with supervisors, co-workers, clients and customers.
5. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Working Conditions:  Moderate to high noise levels. May involve fast-paced activity. May involve working in outdoor weather conditions. Will involve working around cleaning and other chemicals.
