We are hiring! The ITS/Traffic Engineer is an integral part of our ITS/Traffic Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Raleigh, NC. This role will perform tasks related to ITS/Traffic Engineering projects.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Duties usually include the following:
• Designs and develops plans and drawings, which may include the development of preliminary layout and/or final drawings related to ITS and Traffic design. Specifically, our work includes traffic signal design, fiber optic communications cable routing and splicing, utility coordination, signing and striping, traffic safety studies, and more.
• Organizes and conducts ITS and Traffic engineering investigations, planning, and analysis which have a well-defined scope.
• Outlines and prepares relatively straightforward technical reports of sections of more complex reports, working under the periodic review of a more experienced professional.
• Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, regulatory agency specifications, industry best practices, state of the practices, and emerging technologies.
• Contributes to the development of specifications and permit applications and writes miscellaneous reports. Prepares preliminary man-hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
• Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing reports, designs, and drawings developed by others.
• Coordinates with other disciplines as required. Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• B.S. in Engineering. Minimal experience is required of incumbents with a Bachelor's Degree in a branch of Engineering directly related to hiring discipline; no experience required with a Master's degree.

SPECIAL SKILLS

• Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills. PC and CAD skills required.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

• E.I. or EIT desired.
