Leidos is in search of an Information Technology & Communications Enterprise Architecture Managerto join the dynamic Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) team!

This role is responsible for the leadership and management of the Architecture and Strategy group for the US Antarctic Program (USAP). The Enterprise Architecture Manager leads a team of architects, systems engineers and business analysts to provide an as-is architectures, technology roadmaps, systems engineering integration and innovative solutions for the USAP. This position ensures the USAP Information Technology and Cybersecurity architectures are documented, and relevant to modern standards and federal mandates. It leads the Architecture team in identifying innovations and opportunities to improve the USAP mission, while mapping out recommended future technologies and processes. It also ensures industry best practices for systems engineering and cybersecurity are integrated into IT system upgrades, improvements and new technologies.

This position leads a talented team of IT Architects, Systems Engineers and Data Analysts to provide strategic direction, innovative solutions, systems integration and engineering, data analytics products and high quality deliverables for the USAP IT department. This position will collaborate with all divisions of the USAP to foster a solution-oriented IT department. It will help to develop project proposals and estimates for future innovations and solutions.

Deployment to McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and/or South Pole Station, Antarctica may be requested of this position in order to gather programmatic knowledge.

Per contract requirements, US Citizenship is required. Failure to meet these requirements will result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action.

Must obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start date, this process could take up to 4 months.

About the Antarctic Support Contract:

Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:

  • Vision Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.

  • Mission:  To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.

Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines.  The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

The Challenge:

  • Development of annual budget and tracking of spending according to plan

  • Leadership and management of a team of seven architects, systems engineers and business analyst

  • Guide the development and maintenance of critical IT Architectures

  • Ensure industry systems engineering best practices are incorporated into IT sustaining and project efforts

  • Support development of technological roadmaps and strategies for USAP infrastructure and IT services

  • Provide guidance during business process analysis

  • Enhance data integration and reporting efforts for USAP information and systems

  • Routinely meet with government customer to represent IT and the Antarctic Support Contract

  • Support the development of innovative solutions for the USAP to further the efficiency of the mission, and meet new challenge

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology or other relevant field

  • Excellent time management and work prioritization skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an IT or technical management related field

  • Industry experience working in a cross-functional matrixed team environment.

  • Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills required.

  • Experience managing a budget using Earned Value methodology

  • Minimum 2 years experience supervising or managing a team

You May Also Have:

  • Master’s Degree

  • SharePoint Experience

  • Power BI report generation

  • Knowledge of FISMA, the NIST Cybersecurity framework and federal cybersecurity requirements.

  • Familiarity or certification in INCOSE Systems Engineering

  • This position may work remotely from within the United States, but will be required to come to the Denver Leidos/ASC office at least once during the year for meetings.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
