We are now recruiting for BTS IT Technology Specialist join our ABC Manufacturing Operations Site in Worcester. The BTS IT Technology Specialist will report to the Site BTS Lead / Associate Director and be responsible for championing the Sites Technology Agenda through the implementation of Digital Technology Solutions that meet the business needs in line with the corporate IT strategy. They provide end-to-end technical solution leadership and business process alignment through the delivery and maintenance of Business Technology Solutions and systems. In partnership with Site BTS Lead they create and maintain the site technology roadmap, advocating for and enabling a unified approach to shopfloor management, proposes, plans (capital plan and long range plan) and executing projects that deliver innovation and digital enablement of IME's business imperatives.
In this role you'll be responsible for:
- Lead digital technology development and implementation across the sites manufacturing operations areas promoting the digital agenda and infusing digital as a guiding design principle throughout.
- Working closely with manufacturing process engineering and automation you will input digital solutions in system/process design discussions.
- Build and lead the Site's Technology Roadmap and governance process to effectively drive technology advancements across the site.
- Assess and benchmark digital technology and Factory of the Future capabilities for the site, develop and communicate strategy and roadmap in close alignment with SLT, IME network leadership and BTS capabilities
- Liaise with Manufacturing, Quality, and Operation Excellence stakeholders to develop an inventory of digital opportunities
- Promote, expand and improve data access and utilization for consumption and analysis both on BTS site team as well as on business side
- Ensure delivery of robust sustainable digital technology solutions that meet site, region and network priorities, drive standardization as well as continuous improvement of IT solutions for the site providing with high availability and managing technology lifecycles
- Actively pursues and understands enabling technologies and is aware of IT industry trends including Industry 4.0 and IoT
- Advise and inform BTS colleagues and IME business customers on the right digital investment.
- Champion digital solution implementation and projects that drive Digital Manufacturing through integration of machines, systems and data.
- Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) projects from initiation to ensure digital by design is a guiding principle for process design.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs to implement improvements in the quality, safety, environmental and production systems
- Provide expert guidance on new technologies and emerging trends, understand current system design and partner with key stakeholders and site leadership to deliver 'future proof' ideas and solutions to ensure ongoing effective delivery of operations and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for budget of BTS site operations, systems operations, licenses and services and local BTS projects as delegated to by Site BTS lead.
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required
- Bachelors degree in relevant field and at least 5 years relevant experience OR Masters degree in relevant field and at least 4 years experience.
- Systems background: ERP/SAP, MES (POMSNet), Data Historian (OSI PI), Chromatography (Empower) and laboratory management systems. SCADA/DCS is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance, IT System Life Cycle, Compliance and Data Integrity
- Strong Business Consultancy capabilities to drive business process engineering and innovation. Manages change and encourages innovation. Lead and drive delivery of multi stakeholder solutions based upon business value and efficiencies.
- Ability to understand various technologies and effectively master complexities of application architecture, design and integration.
- Proven ability to make clear and courageous decisions, influence leadership and key stakeholders at site, regional and global levels
- Must be fluent in English
Beneficial
- Experience with process improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) will be of added value.
- 4 years project management experience - proven record of cross functional project delivery
- Exposure to FDA, GMP, ISA95, safety and environmental legislation. Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry preferred
