Position:IT Technical Specialist
Job Summary:
As the IT Technical Specialist, you'll spearhead the support and deployment of Orchard Software's suite of Laboratory Information Systems for clinical laboratories. Your role will involve adept troubleshooting, collaborative problem-solving, and ensuring exceptional customer service and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support for Laboratory Information System (LIS) administration, account configuration, interface validations, and ensuring interoperability with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in laboratories supported by Labcorp.
Collaborate with external LIS application vendors to swiftly resolve issues and minimize lab testing downtime.
Diagnose and resolve issues within the LIS, recognize significant functional changes, and troubleshoot as required.
Design, execute, and document interface validation projects.
Monitor LIS error queues, create mappings as needed, and assist in planning LIS enhancements and projects.
Offer guidance to staff on system usage and functionality, and monitor integrity for HL7, reference labs, and instrument interfaces.
Maintain the Test Catalog for reference labs and locally interfaced testing.
Stay updated on LIS developments by participating in training programs.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of practical experience in an IT Technical Specialist role.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical or science-related discipline (Biology preferred).
Strong background in Medical and/or Laboratory facilities, including proficiency in electronic health records, laboratory information systems, and practice management systems.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills for production support issues.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Health Level Seven (HL7).
