Job Summary & Scope

The IT Support Technician Provides timely and accurate end user technical support. AWorks on short duration, routine hardware and software issues, focusing exclusively on day to day operational activities.AA Provides on-call systems maintenance, support and enhancements. Installs and upgrades software and hardware.A Monitors and troubleshoots system performance. Develops and runs related automation scripts and reporting tools.A Leads service management and operational processes.

Associates degree in MIS Computer Science or related field

Accountabilities

A Supports installs, upgrades and supports infrastructure software and hardware for applications, systems and helpdesk groups

A Helps to recommend and schedule repairs

A Assists in the development and maintenance of script tools, batch files and testing equipment

A Participates in the isolation of system issues

A Resolves assigned technical issues encountered in system architecture and infrastructure

A Supports planning and implementation of back-ups, disaster recovery, and security actions

A Administers service and support

A Participates in assessing and implementing new hardware and software

Problem Solving & Analysis

A Identifies and resolves technical issues on multiple platforms

A Follows standard practices and procedures to analyze

A problems and/or data

A Escalates non-routine technical issues or requests to senior members of the team for resolution software

A Analyzes simple problems that have a set of possible solutions

A Able to determine the most appropriate procedure to follow

Decision Making / Autonomy

A Work is assigned by team leader or mentor with detailed instructions as to how to complete assignments

and reviewed by more experienced team members

A Escalates all issues not defined by best practices to team leader for resolution

A Uses standardized procedures to complete work under supervision

A Communicates with own team members and end users to receive and share routine information requiring limited explanation or interpretation
