Position Summary:
The Security Analyst supports security of Bozeman Health network operations so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks 24/7. It includes on-call coverage. This position must understand and utilize best practice principles to provide support and excellent customer service in a timely manner. Recognizes potential problems or patterns of events concerning security and reacts responsibly. Performs forensics analysis and investigations with support and as directed by the Security Manager or in conjunction with guidance from more senior IT Security Analysts. Configures, installs, updates and maintains various hardware and software found in a healthcare facility. Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves various security, hardware, software or performance issues. Gives individual hands-on help or training to improve end user security knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of Information Technology experience preferably in a healthcare facility
- Certified Security+ or similar approved Security Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Preferred: Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), required within 5 years
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitors networks for security issues and investigates any security incidents or breaches.
- Analyzes and trends security log data from multiple hardware and software systems.
- Prepares, reviews, and maintains security response documentation and policies.
- Plans and implements security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data.
- Establishes system controls for level of access and reports any violations.
- Performs investigations on security alerts and incidents.
- Designs, develops, implements, and supports network, backup, and disaster recovery from a security perspective.
- Configures, installs, updates, and maintains hardware and software as directed.
- Resolves a variety of hardware, software, and network connectivity and application issues.
- Serves other IT and clinical departments in providing security guidance, policy interpretation and education.
- Researches the latest in information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject.
- Understands the need to address Security concerns or incidents in a timely fashion and appreciates that those events can occur at any time which may require flexibility of schedule.
