Position Summary:
The IT Resiliency Service Lead will be part of the IT team and will help execute on the strategies and work streams related to IT resilience and disaster recovery by overseeing and coordinating all operational elements of the planning and execution. This individual will work in conjunction with IT, Architecture, Security and Business Unit IT Teams, to refine and ensure that DR environments, plans, and documentation are maintained and can be relied on for use in an actual DR event by ensuring sufficient contingencies and ensuring appropriate DR testing programs are created and conducted. They will also work with these groups to review critical business processes and identify areas to improve recoverability, reliability, and resiliency. They will work with technical, business, and leadership teams world-wide to learn our business and understand our current DR programs, find what works, and identify what can be enhanced.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Support the Service Manager – IT Resiliency to determine the technical and operational aspects of all organization-wide disaster recovery plans, processes, and procedures to identify gaps and ensure continuous improvement and mature our DR capabilities
- Coordinate the development and testing of disaster recovery and resumption plans for the critical processes and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption in conjunction with IT, the internal business units, and other relevant internal and external parties
- Conduct technical risk assessments to identify key disaster recovery related risks, and identify mitigating controls in place, and track controls that need to be implemented
- Develop and communicate DR testing guidelines, and ensure testing is adequately executed as required by IT Senior Management, and in accordance with policy, and any other applicable guidance, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Analyze DR test results and develop and communicate any necessary recommendations to key stakeholders, including appropriate remediation plans are created and enacted
- Ensure all necessary testing documentation is completed, stored, and reviewed for accuracy, and available for review by management, auditors, and regulators
- Coordinate a distributed team of skilled professionals to ensure platform recovery strategies support DR readiness requirements. Prioritize review of DR recovery plan documentation to ensure alignment to the DR framework
- Develop strong relationships with business and technology leaders and other business continuity and disaster recovery stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to both planning and incident response activities
- Work to identify, escalate, resolve, and document all outstanding disaster recovery and resiliency planning or implementation issues
- Participate in IT team and business unit planning activities related to disaster recovery and resiliency program efforts
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, System Analysis, or a related field AND 4+ years of experience with disaster recovery and resilient IT infrastructure solutions, OR High School Diploma AND 7+ years of the above stated experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
- Strong working knowledge of business continuity/disaster recovery, IT resiliency, reliability, and well architected frameworks as it relates to on-premise and cloud infrastructures
- Knowledge of risk management, business continuity, and DR tools and best practices
- Ability to build relationships and communicate across business functions and leadership to provide direction for IT resiliency and disaster recovery across the organization
- Strong organization, planning, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to lead improvements within a changing business landscape
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across teams in a high performing and matrixed team environment
- Experience aligning solutions to standards and architectures required to achieve resiliency, security and scalability through automation
- Ability to help teams navigate ambiguity, change, and competing priorities to drive results in a collaborative and efficient manner without sacrificing quality or deviating from standards and procedures
- Must possess a continuous improvement mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvements that align with IT and business goals
- Demonstrate project management experience
- Experience with large enterprise application backup and recovery strategies
- Able to understand market and industry trends within areas of expertise
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques, technologies and best practices, methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses
- Able to lead effective partnerships across the organization and is able to influence Senior Management, peers and subordinates through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities and knowledge
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms such as Azure, Google, and AWS
- Expert understanding of public, private, and hybrid cloud environments
- Knowledge of Well Architected Frameworks for cloud environments
- Familiarity of server replication and backup tools such as Zerto and Commvault
- Industry recognized certification in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery - Certification from DRII or BCI or similar a plus
- Experience with DR governance / control frameworks (NIST, ISO 27031)
- Prior experience developing and implementing scalable IT disaster recovery programs, preferably on a global scale
- Solid understanding of technology landscape as it relates to disaster recovery including operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux), server management, information security, networking, application development, storage and backup, virtualization and/or cloud
- Desired ITIL foundation certificate
- CBCP or equivalent certification preferred
