IT Product Manager Senior
Location: Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK 
Description:

The IT Product Manager is the primary interface to the business to help align business partner needs to technology services. They will work closely with the Business Leader(s) and key contributors to understand priorities, capture business demand, and translate into meaningful actions for the project delivery teams. Plays a key role in facilitating ongoing technology innovation for the business. Acts as IT business partner for all work being delivered by the product delivery teams. Works closely with the enterprise architecture and IT governance teams to ensure projects are delivered under the appropriate standards and practices.

Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Communicating product vision to development teams and provides guidance to the team to ensure development delivers on the vision.
  • Critically assess the user experience that these features deliver.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
  • Developing product road map in partnership with stakeholders ensuring consistency with organization and business line objectives and goals.
  • Develops and champions a product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a specific product within a product area in support of corporate goals.
  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, competitive analysis, planning, requirements development, and product delivery
  • Ensures product vision is communicated to the product owners.
  • Evaluating electric utility industry trends, legal/regulatory climate, competitive products and changes in marketplace technology.
  • Gather and articulate project requirements through working with stakeholders.
  • Influences department’s strategy based upon existing and future technology assets.
  • Listen carefully to the needs of all stakeholders and weighs their desires against the need to monitor costs and benefits.
  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex issues regarding technical approach for delivery and is performed with minimal direction.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Owner of the product portfolio for all products and responsible for adhering to established process disciplines and contribute to the on-going continuous improvement for product life cycle initiatives.
  • Proactively address the effectiveness of our products managing customer perceptions of deficiencies.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
  • Setup KPIs and goals, measure and track result, evaluate success/failure.
  • Solve for business needs through technical application
  • Understand and articulate the overall vision of the portfolio.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS or related field, And 4 years of experience managing or leading projects, product ownership, or performing similar work;
  • Or 7 years of experience managing or leading projects, product ownership, or performing similar work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize information for insights and ideas about the customer, as well as the product portfolio that leads to business growth.
  • Ability to acquire key insights needed to facilitate the development and implementation of new products & services that meet and exceed customer requirements at required financial returns.
  • Ability to set/evaluate and plan priority of new products and services.
  • Ability to establish overall product objectives which include timelines, sales and promotional goals and objectives.
  • Ability to influence and align business leaders to ensure the successful execution of the marketing mix for all assigned product lines and projects.
  • Exhibit internal and industry leadership in technical disciplines, market understanding, strategic planning and quality assurance.
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • Maintains a professional demeanor, appearance and interactions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with customers, members and management.
  • Ability to lead various cross functional teams.
  • Skilled at building relationships with members in various functional areas and at all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled at developing proposals that include a significant services component and business cases.
  • Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to think strategically as well as tactically; able to build a shared vision with business and plan next steps after a meeting with team members.
  • Ability to understand complex problems, develop solutions, and take appropriate actions towards a resolution.
  • Ability to influence and build trust at all levels of an organization.
  • General knowledge of the various aspects of IT projects, e.g. business case, approvals, budgeting, project management, methodologies (waterfall, agile), analyze, design, build, test, quality assurance, operations, service levels, and contracts.
