Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive the overall IT architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure enterprise-wide solutions, encompassing applications, infrastructure, data, and integration layers.
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of VMWare migration initiatives, ensuring seamless migration of on-premises VMWare workloads to the cloud environment.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to project teams, ensuring adherence to established architecture principles, standards, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior executives to understand their requirements, define architectural roadmaps, and recommend innovative solutions that address business challenges.
- Conduct research and analysis of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for architectural improvements and innovation.
- Define and enforce architecture governance processes, including the Architecture Review Board and documenting processes and standards, to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across IT projects.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of architectural documentation, including solution design documentation, diagrams, guidelines, and policies, to facilitate knowledge sharing and enable effective decision-making.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, such as security and business solutions to ensure the overall integrity, scalability, and performance of the IT.
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing complex enterprise solutions with modern technologies and frameworks - particularly Azure, Azure AD, Hyperconverged technologies such as Nutanix, Terraform, etc.
- Experience with migration of on prem technologies to cloud platforms, with an emphasis on migrating VMWare environments to Azure
- Experience and familiarity with networking design and architecture especially with SD-WAN
- Strong understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments, including data protection, identity management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems, identify critical issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading architectural initiatives and driving organizational change.
- An ownership mentality with assigned projects, a proven ability to coordinate with other technical team members, project managers, vendors and others to insure continual progress and successful completion of those projects.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance, ITAR compliance, NIST and other regulatory frameworks is desirable.
- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, are desirable.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as an IT architect, with a focus on enterprise-level architecture and strategic planning.
