Job Title: ITOperations Technician

Department: Information Systems

Reports To: Manager of IT Operations

Job Summary:

The Operations Technician will be part of a team responsible for monitoring and maintaining our server and network environments. That team will also have responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance/administration of phone systems, audio/video conference rooms, asset management, procurement, logistics and daily reporting on systems status.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and maintenance of server environment, including hardware and key application services

• Monitoring of power and environmental status for server and network rooms
• Monitor and maintain audio/video equipment, and assist as needed with presentation support
• Monitoring and management of daily data back-ups
• Maintain and update knowledgebase, logs, manuals, room diagrams and inventories necessary for efficient IT operations
• Maintenance/Upgrade of power management equipment

• Adds/Moves/Changes of telecom equipment
• Assist with asset management and procurement of IT equipment, including development of a spares inventory
• Assist Desktop Support group with routine maintenance of fax machines, PC's, laptops, etc., when necessary
• Assist with small project planning and logistics
• Daily status reporting

• Occasional off-hours work necessary
• Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above.

Requirements:

Education - Associates degree in related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience

Experience - Two years technical experience required; previous IT Operations/Desktop support experience a plus.

Licensure -

Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
