Job description

Zurich North America (ZNA) is looking for an Information Technology Intern to join its Core Platforms Admin team in the summer of 2024 out of our Schaumburg, IL offices.

 

North America Information Technology (IT) combines insurance knowledge with technology expertise to shape technology solutions. IT drives the execution of our strategic roadmaps, delivers new solutions, and ensures our information security while maintaining our technology platforms. We do this while creating a world-class work environment.

 

The primary project you will work on:

 

Assist with Application Development, Configuration to support Underwriting & Digital transformation initiatives.

 

You will learn:

 

  • Working in a fast-paced IT Application development environment using an agile methodology to analyze, design, develop, and configure the software to automate Submission intake and Underwriting processes.
  • System Analysis, Application Programming / Configuration, Product Development, and Devops

 

Other development opportunities:

 

  • Programming using .Net language
  • Application Configuration using Low Code / No Code Platforms like Innoveo / Mendix
  • System Analysis and working with a group of highly skilled technical team of developers, testing professionals, project managers, product owners, and business / System Analysts.
  • Understanding the SDLC process, Agile methodology using SCRUM
  • Understanding Devops - Continuous Integration / Continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Learn about the Zurich IT Application landscape and be part of a critical IT Transformation program.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2024
  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Management Information Systems, business analytics, or related field
  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester's GPA)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile projects
  • Analytical Mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Problem-solving skills in customer focused environment
