The City of Chandler Information Technology Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as anIT Infrastructure Manager. The position is scheduled to Monday through Fridays, 8am-5pm.

The City of Chandler, Information Technology Department consists of 58 positions, along with contractors and managed services, that provide technology solutions and support to over 2200 full-time, temporary and part-time employees in the City.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to lead and mentor a team of infrastructure professionals responsible for multiple data centers, enterprise network, and Microsoft Office 365 platform. Our new Infrastructure Manager will develop and implement strategic plans for IT infrastructure alignment with the City of Chandler’s goals and growth objectives as well as oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable data center infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability. You will manage enterprise network architecture, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, and VPN connectivity, WiFi to optimize performance and security along with collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and systems into the existing infrastructure landscape. You will drive the development and execution of a comprehensive budget for IT infrastructure initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost optimization, establish and enforce security best practices and protocols to safeguard data, systems, and network infrastructure, and monitor infrastructure performance and reliability metrics, implement proactive measures to address potential issues, and ensure compliance with SLAs. You will be asked to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the infrastructure team and to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior leadership, to provide updates on infrastructure projects, performance, and strategic initiatives.

Minimum qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; and
  • 5 years of recent experience with system architecture and design and 2 years of experience overseeing technical projects and staff or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on data centers, enterprise networks, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage, mentor and motivate a team of infrastructure professionals.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in developing and executing strategic plans and budgets.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, network architecture, and cloud computing concepts such as Windows server (2003 - 2022) architecture and administration, Linux (RHEL/OEL/Cent), Cisco UCS, Dell (Traditional and VxRail), VmWare Virtualization, VmWare Orchestration and Automation
  • Storage BackUp using technologies such as Cisco MDS/ Brocade FC switches, EMC Unity, Isilon, General NFS, SMB, VmWare vSAN, and Rubrik
  • Core Client Services using technologies such as ActiveDirectory, ADFS, Azure AD SSO, DHCP, DFS, Group Policy. Windows Server Update Services, Linux CUPS, Powershell, NTP, MFA, O365 Stack, Load Balancer, SolarWinds - IPAM, NPM, WAP
  • Database: Oracle Enterprise Edition 19c (installations, patching/upgrades, RMAN backups), Microsoft SQL Server 2012 – 2019 (SQL in a failover clustered environment), Cloud Database Architecture (Azure preferred)

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
