Position Summary:


The main duties of the IT Desktop Specialist include troubleshooting and diagnosing different technical issues, assessing and understanding user needs and issues and recommending technical fixes to customers. While providing the technical assistance to customers regarding various hardware and software applications. Works closely with the other IT Leads and CIO to contribute to the design, planning, and implementation of desktop standards images and upgrades, Microsoft desktop and premise and non-premise productivity software. The desktop leads will be responsible for documenting environment as it relates to desk-based hardware.

Maintaining Inventories hardware peripherals such as speakers, microphones, printers’ desktops, and Internet perimeter. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IP Based telephony technologies such as (Avaya), Office 365, Windows Servers, as well as related technologies. Understanding of EHR application such as eClinical Works (eCW) is a plus.


Schedule Availability:


Mon-Fri 8:30 – 5:30

On-call rotation as needed.


Essential Duties:


Infrastructure Planning and Implementation:

a. Collaborate with the CIO and IT Leads in the design, planning, and implementation of a standards-based desktop with an upgrade path to allow for continued maintenance.

b. Contribute to enhancing the LAN, WAN, and Internet perimeter.

2.IT Support and Management:

a. Provide comprehensive IT support across health center clinics, healthcare shelters, school-based health center sites, and mobile medical/dental vans.

b. Maintain and adheres to industry-based practices and procedures for desktops and peripherals.

3.MS Office 365 Management:

a. Solid understanding of Office 365 and desktop deployment.

4.Device Rollout and Management:

a. Handle Desktop based rollout and management of technologies associated (iPhones, MiFi, iPads for kiosks, Standard Telephony, TV’s), while maintaining a running Inventory and tracking system.

5.Help Desk and Ticketing System:

a. Be available to support calls into the help desk.

b. Maintain and track department support ticket documentation.

6.Project Management:

a. Manage independent mini MAC (Move Adds and Changes) requested projects from inception to implementation, contributing to impactful improvements.

7.Data Migration and Financial Support:

a. Assist with data migration for department-based applications

8.IT Leadership and Collaboration:

a. Address IT-related issues for department heads, ensuring smooth operations at all levels.

9.IT Security and Access Control:

a. Maintain security measures for departmental files and manage access to sensitive and confidential data.

b. Support the enhancements within Active Directory (AD), GPOs, and OUs to improve user access and security.

10.Inventory Management and Technical Readiness:

a. Perform device flashing and repairs for Desktop based hardware IT inventory, ensuring an organized inventory.

11.Operational Updates and Meetings:

a. Assist in weekly operational updates with the CIO, enhancing communication and issue resolution.

b. Establish and maintain knowledge base systems for the department

12.User Access Management and Onboarding:

a. Assist with maintaining a 300-user environment, provide user support, onboarding assistance, and application access control.

b. Facilitates bi-weekly new hire meetings to facilitate smooth onboarding processes.

c. Implement user access signoffs for terminations and new hires.

13.Conference Rooms and Office Logistics:

a. As needed assist with assessment and troubleshooting boardrooms for C-suite director meetings, ensuring technical readiness.

b. Assist with office logistics, including appliance relocation and setup.

14.Application Administration and Troubleshooting:

a. Utilize various applications to assist with access to Desktop base technologies for tasks and troubleshooting.

15.Dedicated Support and Immediate Issue Resolution:

a. Facilitate access to shared files for colleagues and provide dedicated ticket support.

b. Remain on standby for immediate issue resolution across the organization.

c. Must maintain appropriate attendance.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


• Proven experience as a Desktop Technician or similar role.

• Office 365, Windows Servers, Desktop based technologies.

• Project management, and communication skills.

• Relevant certifications (Microsoft and A+) or experience are a plus.

• Demonstrated appropriate expertise in Healthcare Information Systems Management.

• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

• Experience in assisting with major projects, including development of project proposals, business cases, project schedules, financial justification, etc.

• Experience in the use of project management/planning software such as Clarity and Microsoft Project.

• Detail oriented, committed to deadlines and have solid verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of eClinialWorks and other health related applications is preferred or another E.H.R (Electronic Health Record) experience is helpful.

• Writing proficiency and visual design skills.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work well with all levels of management

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks

Requirements:

Professional Experience/Educational:


Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technical based training or related field required.


Certification/Licensure (If Applicable):


A+ certification helpful and preferred, but related experience a plus.
