Our Information Services Division (ISD) has an amazing opportunity for IT Customer Support Specialist to add to their unique team!

As an IT Customer Support Specialist, your excellent customer service and technical skills will be key to your success in this position. You will support the Help Desk team identifying and resolving all system configurations and processing issues. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be helpful collaborating with this team while developing and testing agency-wide technology architecture for web tools, desktop and laptop systems, cell phones, printers, and software, to name a few. Utilizing your knack for research will prove to be beneficial as you troubleshoot and resolve mission critical functionality of DOL's systems.
Some of what you will do:
  • Provide remote Customer Support for hardware and application issues to internal DOL employees.
  • Install and troubleshoot off-the-shelf and custom-developed software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Resolve issues with Active Directory account access.
  • Provide system outage and status communication to users.
  • Escalate requests to other teams as required.

What you will bring:
  • Four (4) years of combined relevant education and experience in IT Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Experience must include:
    • Consultative customer service.
    • Administrative in information technology analysis.
    • System maintenance.
    • Troubleshooting and/or problem resolution experience.
    • Professional experience creating, utilizing, debugging, scripting in a command or programming language.
Experience can be obtained concurrently.

Education to experience equivalency:
Associate's degree = 2 years | Bachelor's degree = 4 years | Master's degree = 5 years

What may help set you apart:
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and administering various computer operating systems including, but not limited to Windows OS.
  • Experience composing, sending, and responding to electronic mail, utilizing email program functions such as calendars and meeting requests.
  • Experience maintaining an inventory database.
  • Experience liaising with the DOL business units to provide coordinated support for new information technologies.
