Department profile: The ‘IT Change Management - Process and Governance role is within the Reliability Operations (RO) practice area group in Wealth Management Technology.

Position Overview: The ‘IT Change Management - Process and Governance’ role is a highly visible and critical role, which will be leveraged for managing the various aspects of Change Management process, tooling, and Governance. This person will have a deep understanding of the Morgan Stanley Change Management policy and process, will ensure Wealth Management change process adheres to the policy, and Wealth Management tooling is in alignment with the policy and process. This person will liaise with the enterprise Change Implementation Management (CIM) policy team to provide input into and stay abreast with any policy/process changes to ensure WMT compliance with CIM policy and procedure through Process and tooling updates. This person will manage the roadmap and plan for development, rollout, communication, training, adoption, and support for any new process/tooling changes for the WMT community. This person will ensure all documentation is up to date with and changes to WMT processes and operating model while staying within the bounds of enterprise CIM policy. The right candidate will have a keen focus on managing risk associated with changes in a dynamic environment (~100K changes per year). This candidate will understand the managed release environment, and ability to and collaborate with globally dispersed teams. This candidate will have a deep understanding of branching strategies, CICD pipeline management, Code build management and versioning, and deployment methodologies. This candidate will define, implement and manage an internal change governance process to ensure policy compliance of WMT changes. This candidate will understand, own action items from CIM audit activities and track them to timely completion, while keeping the management updated about progress. This person will perform periodic evaluation of WMT Change Management practice against the enterprise CIM policy, procedures and controls and identify and address any gaps with urgency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience: 10-15 Years

Primary Skills:
    Ability to create program roadmaps, manage the program work, direct team resources, and deliver as per the roadmap in a timely fashion.
    Skilled at building consensus and negotiating solutions
    Experience creating executive presentation and summary documents and presenting to senior executives.
    Experience communicating with all levels of the organization, including internal and external audit teams and risk teams.
    Proven ability to act and deliver under pressure, and drive multiple programs simultaneously, switching priorities, as necessary.
    Understanding of the Information technology risk landscape in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
    In-depth knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Office Products·
    Hands-on experience managing meetings and other result-oriented activities, drive outcomes and establish accountability.
    BS/MS or equivalent, preferably in quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, Math, Physics)

Secondary Skills:
    10-15 years’ experience in Financial Services or another heavily regulated industry.
    Ability to think creatively, proactively, and independently (meeting facilitation, reporting, managing sensitive data and reporting to senior management).
    Proficient knowledge of ITIL including but not limited to Availability Management, Service Continuity Management, Change Management, SDLC, and related IT Services such as Incident and Problem Management, Change Management Database (CMDB), etc.
    Strong interpersonal skills – ability to influence outcomes through negotiation and persuasion.
    Ability to define strategy and roadmap, and execute it, while working with team members, partners, and stakeholders.
    Be self-motivated, flexible, highly adaptable and an excellent team player, and be prepared to work with a multiple locations virtual team.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
