Form of workKEMET Electronics Corporation, a YAGEO company, is seeking a BigFix Engineer in our Simpsonville, SC or Fort Lauderdale, FL location.
Position Summary:
The role of a BigFix Engineer is to plan, design, configure, customize, troubleshoot, and support the HCL BigFix environment while utilizing Server/Desktop automation solutions available. The BigFix Engineer should have a strong understanding of primary computer architecture systems and must be well-versed with Windows and LINUX operating system commands. They must have a good understanding of hardware systems, virtual machines, networking tools, and protocols.
Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position relies on experience to determine the best approach by using and interpreting company and vendor policies, processes, and procedures as well as industry best practice.
Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain, administer, and troubleshoot company’s BigFix environment.
- Provide integration support where needed.
- Provide subject matter expertise on issues and tasks related to patch management, remote control, and package distribution.
- Manage deployment of all patches, critical updates, and service packs on a timely basis according to Information Security policy.
- Create new, and/or optimize existing, Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, Analyses, and Actions.
- Create new or update existing troubleshooting documentation and processes and procedures in a global knowledge base.
- Must be willing to travel to remote site(s) designated as a supported KEMET location.
Skills & experience:
- Proficient with BigFix Relevance and ActionScript.
- Proficient in at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.).
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and 11 installation, and configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with BigFix Remote Control a plus.
- Experience with ServiceNow, or similar ITSM tool.
- Experience creating technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
- Time management and prioritization skills are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-starter, quick learner with ability to take the initiative.
Education, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of related experience distributing application and software packages using a remote deployment tool, specifically IBM/HCL BigFix.
- 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows workstations with a minimum of Group Policy creation/modification/maintenance at the domain and local level, vulnerability remediation (software and configuration), application support/troubleshooting, and enterprise OS imaging.
- Microsoft certification(s) a plus
