JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, this position provides direction for the IT architecture based on overall enterprise plans. This position proposes the architecture and integration for all infrastructure, including storage, servers, networking, data center, and various software-based systems.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Provides support for cloud infrastructure and deployments.
• Collaborates with the development team to optimize deployment processes and application performance.
• Creates and maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and architectures.
• Ensures system security through the use of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Implements backup and recovery procedures for data and server configurations.
• Installs, configures, and maintains Linux servers and software.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to the Linux environment.
• Regularly updates systems to prevent security vulnerabilities.
• Hardening of Linux systems in compliance with security policies.
• Monitors system performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Participates in on-call rotation for system and network issues.
• Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical field and RHCSA certification OR minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing Enterprise Linux systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in computer networking for hybrid environments.
• Experience with Linux automation tools such as CHEF, Puppet, and Ansible Demonstrated expertise with on-prem and cloud virtualization environments including Azure or AWS, ESXI, KVM, and Hyper-V.
• Demonstrated expertise managing Apache, Nginx, and other production webservers.
• Demonstrated expertise with the following hardware and software storage systems; Hardware RAID, Software RAID, S3, Ceph, ZFS, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, SMB, and AFP.
• Experience working with git repositories.
• Experience with various scripting or programming languages; sh, bash, yaml, go, PHP, python, ruby, and javascript.
• Proficient understanding of IP Networks, routing, switching, subnets, VLAN, and VOIP.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and orders of operations.
• Ability to work directly with college administrators, faculty, and staff on a regular basis is essential.
• Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals in person, via telephone, e-mail, and in-person and virtual meeting spaces.
• Flexibility to shift focus in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.

Pay range starts at: $85,225.16. All salary calculations start at the minimum salary and will be based on candidate's education and experience. Open until filled.
