Primary Physical Work Address: 1313 Sherman St., Denver, CO, 80203 - This position is mostly a hybrid work position with as needed on-site visits with employee and stakeholder groups.

About the Colorado Department of Local Affairs
The Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) serves as the primary interface between the State and local communities. The Department provides financial support to local communities and professional and technical services (including training and technical assistance) to community leaders in the areas of governance, housing, and property tax administration. While all state governments provide such services through various Departmental structures, Colorado's approach is unique in that these local community services are gathered into one Department of "Local Affairs," which has a central focus on strengthening Colorado communities and enhancing livability.

Description of Job
Position Summary
  • Work with the Director of communications to implement the State of Colorado digital requirements on DOLA websites, mitigating compliance matters.
  • Assist the DOLA web Master in website content migration to meet digital compliance standards.
  • Using DOLA content Management Systems, migrate current digital assets not compliant with the State of Colorado digital compliance standards.
  • Assist DOLA staff on best practices for digital content migration.
  • Work with the Director of Communications to manage website compliance and maintenance.
  • Assist in the implementation of governance standards to reach digital compliance.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
AND
One year of professional experience using the Drupal Content Management platforms.
Substitutions:
Education from an accredited institution in English, Business Administration, Computer Science or Communications will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
OR
Additional professional experience using the Drupal Content Management platforms will substitute for the required Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA digital standards
  • HTML proficiency
  • Excellent understanding of digital writing concepts
  • Excellent understanding of digital design concepts
  • Proficiency with Siteimprove
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in an environment with a degree of ambiguity

Please Note:
As of July 1, 2023, all DOLA new hires, including transfers of current state employees and reinstatements of former state employees, will be placed on the biweekly pay schedule. This means you will be paid every other Friday for a total of 26 pay periods over the course of a year.
