Job Title: Islamic Spiritual Guide - Life Connections Program

Job Overview:
The Federal Correctional Institution in Greenville, Illinois is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Islamic Spiritual Guide for the Life Connections Program. The Life Connections Program is a multi-faith, Residential Pre-release initiative aimed at providing inmates with opportunities for spiritual growth and reducing recidivism. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering religious instruction, counseling, and guidance to Islamic inmates participating in the program.

Responsibilities:

• Religious Instruction and Counseling:
• Conduct religious-based classes covering topics such as integrity, spiritual growth, leadership, and other subjects agreed upon with the program coordinator.
• Administer and grade exams, encourage inmate participation in program activities, including journaling, discussion groups, service projects, and victim impact discussions.
• Lead prayers and provide counseling from an Islamic theological perspective.
• Program Development:
• Collaborate with the Chaplain Program Manager and other program staff to assist in the development of the Life Connections Program.
• Work closely with participants following Orthodox Islam, while respecting diverse interpretations within the Islamic faith.
• Management and Monitoring:
• Report to the Life Connections Chaplain Program Manager.
• Attend required training sessions by the Bureau of Prisons.
• Provide monthly billing statements reflecting services rendered.
• Security and Compliance:
• Adhere to all regulations prescribed by the institution for safety, custody, and conduct of inmates.
• Attend Institution Familiarization Orientation and security-related training.
• Maintain a professional relationship with inmates, reporting any rule violations to the appropriate authorities.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience:
• Possession of an ordination certificate or equivalent, demonstrating recognition as a clergy or spiritual leader in good standing within the Islamic faith community.
• Minimum of three years of continuous full-time experience as a minister within the Islamic faith community.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, preferably in Islamic studies.
• Documentation:
• Submit a resume, photocopies of relevant documents evidencing education and training.
• Complete the "Credentials of Religious Services Contractor" form.
• Provide two personal references and one letter of endorsement from the local Islamic religious organization.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Provide six one-hour sessions per day, up to 30 sessions per week, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM-3:00 PM), excluding Federal Holidays.
• Compensation will be on a firm-fixed price contract basis.

Insurance:
The vendor is responsible for obtaining and maintaining required insurance coverage as specified in the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

This is a firm-fixed price contract for a base year with the possibility of four option years.
