Is Field Journeyman Pipe Welder/Fitter - Philadelphia, Pa

Layout, weld, finish, install, and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with
product specifications, welding codes and industry standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety, professional & customer satisfaction focused.
Read and understand, drawings, blueprints, and P&ID's.
Position, align and secure parts & assemblies according to specifications by using tape
measures, straightedges, combination squares, levels, and other various measuring tools.
Perform welding using the GMAW, SMAW and GTAW welding processes.
Familiar and proficient in butt & socket weld for carbon steel & stainless-steel pipe/tube,
experience in threaded carbon steel & stainless-steel pipe, experience with PVC/CPVC, copper
solder.
Operate hand and power tools such as magnetic drills, grinders, cutting torches and automated
welding tractors, etc.
Inspect equipment prior to use to maintain quality & functionality; report any equipment
malfunctions.
Work with others to assist with execution of work in a professional manner.
Inspect own work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies
and explain and take any corrective action needed.
EDUCATION:
Required: High school Graduate, related Trade school and History of experience in this industry
required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ year experience in fabrication/welding industry
Have experience in the GMAW, SMAW and GTAW, and ultimately qualify to weld pipe in 6-G
position per AWS using the GTAW process in carbon and stainless steel. Proven past welding
certification history is a plus.
US Citizenship required.
Understands welding symbols, decipher work packages diagrams, blueprints, and or other printed
instructional material.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate
effectively with management/supervision.
Can cut material by means of cutting torch, plasma torch, Port-a-band saw etc.
Able to work in a team environment and self-motivated.
OSHA /10 safety training required provided by Rhoads, having an up-to-date OSHA/10 or greater
is a plus.
REQUIRED: Valid driver's license and automobile required, Travel from job to job in the Tri-state
area.
HOURS: Weekday 6am to 2:30pm or 7am to 3:30pm, or as required by customer or type of work.
Alternate weekday & weekend shift availability required on a shared or required "as need" basis
with notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the
use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is
required.
