IRRIGATION / LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Operations Foreman while performing skilled repair and maintenance work on amenities, irrigation systems, turf management, small engines, and grounds and minor property maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the irrigation central control systems in conjunction with the Operations Foreman
- Maintain irrigation parts inventory and ensure parts required are ordered.
- Irrigation system auditing, tracking and modification.
- Maintenance and repair of the irrigation system as needed.
- Perform the golf course maintenance, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, etc.
- Assist and perform landscape projects with the Operations Foreman.
- Availability for after-hour and weekend emergency response.
- Snow removal; available 24/7 365 days a year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate with a minimum of two years experience as a park or golf course maintenance worker and one year experience with installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of irrigation systems and their electronic activating devices.
- Working knowledge of planting and maintaining turf, water schedules and fertilizers.
- Absolute knowledge of safety practices and procedures of duties performed.
- Working knowledge of equipment operation principles, practices and procedures; working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to the position; working knowledge of minor equipment maintenance and repair functions.
- Ability to safely operate all equipment, including mowing, backpack sprayer, rotary spreader, sod cutter, chainsaw, fertilizer and pesticide calibration, tractor and loader, in addition to a variety of light and some heavy equipment to include hydraulics and small engine equipment, both gas and diesel; skill in operating a variety of hand tools.
- Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals and maintain reasonable written records for equipment maintenance, etc. and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Perform snow removal, shoveling and ice control.
- Perform pool maintenance and pool and clubhouse opening duties.
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety and maintenance of equipment and shop areas.
- Interact with the Association’s contract service providers as needed.
- Respond to residents and guests with courtesy, professionalism, and efficiency.
- Maintains and repairs all irrigation systems on golf course and grounds areas.
- Perform general maintenance on a property-wide basis, including light carpentry, electrical repairs, and occasional paint repairs.
- Any other duties as requested by the Property Manager as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
