We have an exciting opportunity for an IP counsel or experienced patent agent to work with our expert international Intellectual Property team. Do you have a passion for innovation and intellectual property? Then we would love to hear from you. You will be intimately involved in building and implementing the IP strategy for protecting some of Cytiva's core product portfolios, which relate to a range of product platforms within the bioprocess industry. This will cover all aspects from collaborating closely with R&D and business colleagues in building world class IP protection, to execution of global IP litigations.

The salary range for this role is $140,0000-$180,000 This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law.

What you'll do
- Provide high quality IP support for Cytiva's Bioprocess business, reporting to Cytiva's IP Leader for Bioprocess.
- Work closely with R&D and product development teams to capture and protect commercially significant inventions, and draft and file high quality patent applications.
- Efficiently advance prosecution of pending patent applications and manage global patent portfolio to ensure meaningful protection is obtained, and develop strategies using various types of IP to create and nurture valuable IP assets.
- Perform freedom to operate reviews and minimize exposure to third party IP.
- Support IP aspects of business development, licensing, and Merger & Acquisition activities, along with supporting IP enforcement actions and providing IP training to business associates.
Who you are
- Qualified IP counsel or Patent Agent with technical background in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, software, physics or equivalent.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience of devising innovative IP strategies.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, practices and procedures relating to patent procurement in Europe, US and Asia.
