The mission of the Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community. To fulfill our mission, we source and acquire nutritious food and other products and distribute them to people experiencing nutrition insecurity through our partner agency network and directly through programs; energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief; and conduct hunger and nutrition education and awareness campaigns and advocate for public policies that benefit the people we serve. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This role is responsible for ensuring that product received matches with receiving documents such as Bill of Lading, Purchase Orders, and Donor Orders. The Clerk performs general duties relating to quality assurance such as verifying integrity of product, determining nutritional content of items received, and performs inspection of inbound fresh produce. This role is essential to the proper tracking and maintenance of our product inventory.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Quality Control: Verify product is wholesome/nutritional for consumption. Verify code dates are within Food Bank guidelines. Ensure product is received and put away within an expectable amount of time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or vocational college courses desired
- Previous quality control experience in a warehouse or distribution environment or equivalent training.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in a general office environment with at least 1 year experience as Inventory Control Clerk in a warehouse/distribution setting.
- Very good communication and customer service skills.
- Very good data entry and computer skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; some experience with ERP systems helpful.
- Familiarity with general office equipment.
- Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Detail oriented with good aptitude for math
