INVITATION TO RETIRED SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS (SMEs) - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Introduction: The International Aid Committee (IAC) is seeking experienced and retired Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to volunteer and provide valuable input during the proposal stage of the "Countering WMD Threats in Iraq" project. This VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY is a crucial step in IAC's efforts to enhance its proposal and, upon project approval, the selected SMEs will be offered paid positions for project implementation.
Scope of Volunteer Engagement: Volunteer SMEs are invited to contribute their expertise in the development of the proposal for the Countering WMD Threats in Iraq project. Specifically, we seek individuals with experience in chemical and biological preparedness, security forces training, and collaboration with governmental and industry stakeholders. Volunteers will work closely with IAC's project team to ensure a comprehensive and effective proposal aligned with the project objectives outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
Key Responsibilities:
Review and Advisory Role: Provide expertise in reviewing and refining project objectives, strategies, and methodologies to ensure alignment with international best practices and standards.
Proposal Development: Collaborate with IAC's team in crafting specific project components related to chemical and biological incident response capabilities, public-private collaborations, and regional preparedness.
Capacity Building: Contribute insights into capacity-building initiatives, emphasizing sustainability, and long-term impact.
Stakeholder Engagement: Provide guidance on engaging government organizations, security forces, first responders, medical staff, and chemical industry representatives in Iraq.
Qualifications:
- Retired professionals with significant expertise in chemical and biological preparedness.
- Background in security forces training, law enforcement, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with government agencies and industry partners.
- Strong understanding of international standards in countering WMD threats.
Timeline: The volunteer engagement will occur during the proposal development stage, with an estimated commitment of 3-4 weeks. Upon successful project approval, selected volunteers will be invited to join IAC's team for the project implementation phase.
