The investment department of Amica Mutual Insurance Co. is seeking a Graduate Intern to join the investment team responsible for managing Amica’s $3.8 billion fixed income portfolio and $1.5 billion equity portfolio. The intern will help assist a small group of investors providing analysis on public equity, income, and/or private markets. The U.S. equity portfolio invests in all sectors of the investment universe and targets businesses that exhibit superior business quality characteristics and/or valuation outlooks relative to peers.

The fixed income team manages a high quality, diversified portfolio that is comprised of investment grade corporate bonds, taxable municipal bonds and various structured products. Our alternatives team evaluates primary fund investments across in variety of strategies, including leveraged buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, and private debt.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will work with Amica’s investment team, assisting in conducting research for the benefit of Amica’s portfolios
  • Collaborate with peers on portfolio discussions, sharing updated news, providing feedback to peer investment thesis, and having open debates with the investment team
  • Perform other assignments as requested to support the investment department and its goals
  • Utilize research platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, PitchBook, etc.) as necessary
  • Potential to work across assets classes (equity, fixed income, private equity, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial markets and investments
  • Required experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Preferred experience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet
  • Preferred experience in any of the following: performing fundamental equity research within the asset management industry; security and relative value analysis across fixed income asset classes; and investment banking, direct private equity, or private market consulting
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in finance, accounting, or business related field
  • Strong analytical and communications skills
