Article Student Living is excited to invite you to our 2024 internship program! The internship will run from June 3rd to August 9th, 2024. You will report to the Investment Team under the Head of Investment Management and Chief Investment Officer. There will be events planned throughout the program, such as lunch and learns, talent acquisition training, and end of the internship project presentation. There's a lot to learn and fun to be had. We can't wait to begin.
You will be in a hybrid role working in our home office 3 days a week. We are looking for an intern who is local to the Chicago, IL area.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic student seeking a bachelor's in finance, economics, real estate, or a related field who is looking for experience with the fundamentals of investments within the real estate industry.
Your Mission:
- Gain exposure to detailed financial modeling for developments, acquisitions, and dispositions
- Assist the asset management and development teams with market research and historical data across major university markets both within and outside of the existing Article Student Living portfolio
- Work with the investments team on deal/fund/portfolio level waterfalls and sensitivity analyses
- Help prepare investment presentations and packages for investors, lenders, partners, and other constituents
- Support in due diligence requests and deal execution
- Seeking a degree in finance, economics, real estate, or a similar field
- Some experience in the financial sector, or a demonstrated interest in the real estate industry
- Experience in group and individual settings
- Detail focused

- Computers and electronics: Some knowledge of office computer programs such as MS Word or Excel and social media sites
- Proficient verbal and written ability
