Job description

The Investment Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the Bank's Investment Portfolio, which is primarily comprised of fixed income securities. This includes security valuation and trading as well as portfolio analysis and reporting. This role reports directly to the Bank's Treasurer and will manage an investments staff. This is a full-time position in a professional office environment.
Responsibilities include the following:

  • Oversee security and investment fund trading for the Bank's Investment Portfolio
  • Oversee agency mortgage-backed securities trading related to mortgage securitization business
  • Routinely evaluate a variety of security types in order to identify value for the Bank
  • Work closely with other Treasury managers to ensure portfolio strategy aligns with interest rate risk and liquidity targets
  • Oversee monthly security pricing and routine portfolio analysis
  • Ensure Community Reinvestment Act investment targets are met
  • Oversee preparation of management and Board-level financial reporting
  • Oversee management of the bank owned life insurance portfolio
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned

Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of portfolio management experience, and an understanding of a variety of fixed income asset classes. Requirements include the following:
  • Minimum education of a bachelor degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, or Math
  • At least ten years of prior work experience, with at least five years of portfolio management experience
  • An understanding of financial markets and modeling
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
