JOB DESCRIPTION
The Investment Operations Analyst will contribute to the to efficient handling of complex syndicated bank loan and middle market loan transactions, support accurate and timely capture of daily Corp Bond, ABS, RMBS, Private Placement, Mutual Fund trade activity, reconcile income/position variances and more.
- Responsible for trade processing related to Fixed Income securities, Syndicated bank loans, Middle Market Loans, and Private Placements. Demonstrates a solid understanding of trade settlement mechanics, asset class complexities, and post-settlement events.
- Handle daily capture of trade activity across asset classes via STP workflow, troubleshoot automated file errors, working closely with IT team to resolve and drive effective communication with broker dealers to ensure timely settlement.
- Proactively interact and coordinate with Custodian Banks, Paying and Tabulation Agents, Issuers, Trustees, Legal Firms, varied internal teams to collaborate on complex transactions and resolve technical or operational hurdles that may arise.
- Conduct deep-dive research on income and position discrepancies across asset classes, coordinate closely with internal teams and utilize advanced problem-solving skills to resolve and remain attentive to opportunities for added efficiencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years' experience working in Investment Operations/middle office role in insurance, asset management, hedge fund, or investment banking.
- College degree in finance, accounting, similar discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of the following systems: Bloomberg AIM, Business Objects (or comparable reporting / querying tools), MS Office Suite, Epam.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Foundational understanding of Investment Operational methods, market trends, technology, and workflows
- Well-rounded experience providing full operational support to Portfolio Management and Credit Analysis teams across varied asset classes, including Corp Bonds, CMOs, ABS, Private Placements, Middle Market Loans, Working Capital Finance Notes
- Strong ability to work autonomously, adhere to established controls and procedures, exhibiting keen attention to detail and accuracy while also collaborating with peers, clients, stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and teams across business areas to accomplish core goals.
- Experience coordinating settlement processing and / or mechanics with customer banks, issuers, and agents.
- Familiarity with standard legal docs related to Term loans and Private Placements.
- Prior involvement with coordinating Asset Transfers, Free Receipts, and Free Deliveries.
- Proficiency with Nexen, CTM, ALERT, Bloomberg API, Excel, and ePAM.
