Job Summary:
The Investment Associate position supports fixed income portfolio management and trading for BTC Capital Management. In addition, this position contributes to the investment team's asset allocation & fund manager selection process and participates in investment team projects and meetings. This position also supports reporting, dispersion analysis and analytical efforts of the fixed income portfolio management team.
Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:
• Provides analytical support and report preparation for the investment strategy managers, including preparing performance analysis of investment strategies
• Participates in team meetings covering areas of fixed income, equity, asset allocation & fund selection and prepares documents for scheduled team meetings that support the firm's various investment strategies
• Develops a strong understanding of the use of Bloomberg and Zephyr for use in assigned analytical work
• Provides fixed income trade order management and serves as a backup to equity trading manager for equity and ETF trades
• Collaborates on operation improvement projects and helps implement firmwide solutions for trade order management issues
• Continually improves understanding of investments, trade order management and systems used
• Performs other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
• Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within investment management and/or financial services field is required
• Chartered Financial Analyst certification or in process of taking Level 1 exam is beneficial
• Prior experience in trading or investment operations area is desirable
• Previous exposure to Bloomberg, Zephyr, Refinitiv, FactSet, Moxy or trade order management systems is beneficial
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
• Working knowledge of investment markets, equity, bonds and ETF funds
• Understanding of investment principals
• Strong collaboration skills
• Self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge of investments and portfolio management
